Peter Allen Nisbet is a nationally recognized master of the American landscape. His works are highly spiritual and strongly rooted in the Realist tradition of nineteenth-century artists such as Thomas Moran and Albert Bierstadt. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and a former U.S. Naval officer with service in Vietnam. Nisbet moved from Washington, D.C., to the Southwest in 1980 to commence a successful painting career that has now spanned over four decades. His work is honored in the permanent collections of the Eiteljorg Museum, the Tucson Museum of Art, the Fred Jones, Jr. Museum of Art, NASA, the National Science Foundation, and in numerous private collections worldwide.
