Born in Rosine, Kentucky and raised in Middle Tennessee, H. David Wright has been ever drawn to the awakening American frontier and the grand imprints of American history. Always set in studied compositions that capture the fullness of topographic beauty and the richness of the local milieu, his paintings faithfully reflect a love for country, history, and nature. Although his 60 years of painting include European and American training, it is in his studio and field research that his works become as distinguished as they are informing.
David Wright and his wife, Jane, live in Gallatin, Tennessee.
